We have raced through another very busy term in Foundation Stage. The children are all working very hard and we hard and we are slowly building more into each day.
We have been racing through our phonics and are now nearly at the end of our phase 3 sounds. We have been using a combination of the Jolly Phonics programme and Letters and Sounds. This seems to have worked really well and its lovely to see the children using their phonics knowledge when reading and writing.
Our literacy has seen us focus ‘The Three Little Pigs’ and all of the children have had a go at writing their own start of the story. I have been impressed with how well their writing is developing.
Maths has involved working on recognising numbers to 20, adding numbers together to make 10 and recognising 2D shapes. The children are gaining lots of experience with numbers and are growing in confidence with numbers.
In PE we have been working on our throwing and catching skills as well as working as part of a team. There are lots of pictures up in class so please come and have a look.
Our Jigsaw this term has been “healthy me” the children have been thinking about what makes a healthy diet and why sleep is important. It has been lovely learning about their bed time routines.
In RE we have been learning about the Easter Story and the children really enjoyed acting out Palm Sunday and trying some hot cross buns.
All that is left to say I hope you have a lovely Easter break and I look forward to welcoming you back in to class for our Summer term.
