We have to come to the end of another busy week in Foundation. The children have been very busy with their Nativity practice and all know the different parts they will be playing. A letter will follow next week explaining what they need for their costumes and the different parts they will be playing.
We have continued to work hard on our new phonics sounds and have enjoyed learning 4 new sounds this week. The children have practice handwriting sheets in their book bags each day to have a go at the sound we have learnt and to show the rhymes we use to help remember the letters. For this reason we won't be having any additional homework apart from the phonics sheets and reading practice. Our literacy work around the Gruffalo has continued and we have begun to act out the story to help us when it is time to have a go at writing next week. Maths has focused on finding 1 more or less of a given number and the children have been using practical equipment to help them check their answers. In PE the children have started to learn a simple dance and have been learning to find the beat in the music in counts of 8. Finally, 3 things to ask your child this week:- - Can they think of any words starting with a 'p'? - Can thy tell you what is 1 less than 10? - Can they remember the words to 'Wriggly Nativity'? Have a good weekend, Kayleigh Ballard.
