We started off our week with an exciting trip out of school. We went on our walk around Appleton Village as part of our work on identifying features of our local area. It was great to get out into the village and see some of the places that we had talked about. We also took the opportunity to practise crossing the road safely using our ears to listen for the sound of any traffic or people and using our eyes to look both ways both before and whilst we were crossing the road. Later in the week we followed up the work from our walk by looking at maps of Appleton and locating where some of the key places were. Continuing our RE work on harvest, the children have been exploring the Jewish festival of Sukkot. They worked as a team to create a Sukkah in our outdoor area. We think that it looks fantastic!
