This week in English we continued to write our newspaper report about the crimes committed by Goldilocks in Goldilocks and the Three Bears. This week we practised using the power of three in a list, complex sentences, the subjunctive form, bullet points, dashes for parenthesis, quotes and formality shifts in our writing. Below are the brilliant Tweets written by Joel, Rocco and Finley for our class model, in this section we practised formality shifts. Tweet all about it! @SimonSquirrel_2010@OnceUponATimes What is R wood coming to? U people are disgusting! I don’t feel safe no more – NO PORRIDGE IS SAFE. #Lockup #Pawbears#nobearsaresafe#staysafe @WiseOwlsxoxo@OnceUponATimes It’s a hoot observing down on all this from the elder tree. Instead of running in circle, the police should question the amazingly clever creatures. @PetrifiedPipa@OnceUponATimes Oh dear! Oh deer! Quivering like an eskimo and my palms are sweating like mad. I am so petrified of this ghastly girl, I am stressing so much. Someone catch this girl! In Maths this week we continued to work on adding and subtracting mixed numbers and improper fractions before moving on to multiplying fractions by integers and on Friday working on multiplying fractions by fractions. In Friday's lesson the children enjoyed using paper to identify what happens to when we multiply pairs of fractions together. In Science this week we identified the components of blood and described their functions. We learnt that blood is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets. We learnt that plasma and red bloods form the majority of our blood and white blood cells and platelets can be found in a much smaller quantity. To help us understand the components that make up blood and how much their of each we followed a recipe to make our owm! Comments are closed.
