It's been a busy week in year 4. We have been completing our assessments and we are really proud of how hard the children have worked. In Maths we have moved on to looking at perimeter and in English we have been continuing our Brazilian Travel brochure. In Science we were busy completing electrical circuits and investigating the role of a switch. We have been enjoying orienteering in our PE lessons and today discussed what it means to be a good sportsperson.
Thank you to all those who are supporting their child with their homework. A reminder that all children should be recording in their online reading record a minimum of three times a week, learning their spellings and practising their times tables regularly. Those children who are using Times Table Rockstars regularly are showing great progress in their recall and fluency of times tables. Our spellings this week have the 'ch' grapheme but with a 'sh' phoneme because they are French in origin, for example: chef, chalet, machine, brochure, parachute, chute, chaperpone, chandelier, crochet and quiche. See if your child can think of any others. Have a lovely weekend.
