Here’s to another successful week in Cherwell class. This week we have be playing some speaking and listening games in phonics, including an initial ‘m’ sound Kim’s game. This is preparing us for our journey into Read Write Inc Set 1. In maths we have been looking at the ‘oneness of one’ by collecting different items that interest us. We were only allowed to collect one of each! We have been using some large boxes in the outside area and over the week the boxes have been transformed into a hospital, vet, cars, trains and part of large ‘ramp house’. Our topic work has been to look at the story ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers. We discussed the planet that we live on is called Earth and learnt that it was a sphere shape, like a huge ball. Then we used Google Earth to have a closer look at Appleton Primary school and the village of Appleton. We were surprised how many swimming pools there are in Appleton! Here is our ongoing display with questions and answers linked to the book so far. We are looking forward to another great week next week. Have a wonderful weekend.
