We can't quite believe that we are so close to the end of term and the Christmas holidays. This half term has flown by and the children are starting to get very excited about the holiday season.
This week we have been doing assessments in reading, writing and maths. The children have coped really well with these, taking them in their stride. They have shown how well they can apply their ideas for writing, producing some beautifully descriptive pieces about a winter scene. They have used their knowledge of place value to answer mathematical questions. They have also started to develop their comprehension skills - reading a text and then answering questions about it. We have also started to create our rockets using bottles that the children have been bringing into school. They are now all painted and the children will be adding the finishing touches to these over the next couple of weeks. They look great so far. Our Christmas Nativity is coming together nicely and filming started this week. We are still hoping for this to be available to view from next Friday. The children will be having a treat next week. Unfortunately we are unable to go to a live pantomime this year due to restrictions, but we have managed to obtain one for the children to watch on Friday afternoon. It looks amazing!
