To celebrate National Fitness Day, year 5 and 6 gathered in the hall to carry out some Joe Wicks HIIT (high intensity interval training) sessions. This is where you work really hard for a short period of time, and then have a short rest before moving on to the next exercise. We did squats, slow burpees, rope climbing, lunges and more!
National Fitness Day is to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity (although Mrs Barker wants to point out that running a half marathon in the pouring rain at the weekend was not something that she would categorise as "fun").
