We have come to the end of another busy week in Foundation Stage.
We started our phonics sessions this week and have been on a listening walk to see what sounds we could hear in the environment. We also learned the 's' sound and the children have some phonics based homework for the weekend. Maths has seen us focusing on counting to 20 and beginning to recognise some of our numbers to 20 as well. Literacy has focused on writing our names and thinking about our story "Peace at Last" by Jill Murphy. The children made some great predictions about the story and have enjoyed thinking about how Mr Bear might feel. RE has been based around people who are special to us and we have really enjoyed learning all about each other's families and homes. We also had our first PE lesson this week and the children really enjoyed learning some new games and listened really carefully. Finally, 3 things to ask your child this week:- * Can they tell you and words that start with 's'? * Can they count to 10? * Can they tell you an action from our 'runner beans' game? Have a lovely weekend, Kayleigh Ballard.
