This week in Cole Class we have had a very productive week. In English, we have been working on a non-chronological report about cheetahs, in preparation for the children to write their own about lions. Using film clips and information texts, we have written an introduction, facts, captions, labels and rhetorical questions.
In maths, we have been learning about fractions, how to write and recognise them and what unit and non-unit fractions are. We had a fabulous day on World Book Day, sharing stories in the library and with other year groups. Thank you so much for sending the children in in their pyjamas with their books. We have had a number of children with no indoor shoes, PE kit, coats, book bags etc this week. Please make sure your child has indoor and outdoor shoes as well as full PE kit, with items suitable for both indoor and outdoor PE, at all times. If your child wears their trainers as outdoor shoes, they need to have some alternative footwear (like plimsolls) for indoor PE. Water bottles: please would you make sure your child has a water bottle in school. This is especially important at the moment as we are working hard to limit the transmission of germs and eliminating the use of cups from the classroom makes this much easier. If anyone has a spare shoe box for our science dioramas we would be very grateful for one or two more. Have a lovely weekend. Mrs James and Mrs Lappin
