In English this week we have just about finished sentence stacking our disaster stories based on a flood. Next week we will start to plan our own disaster stories.
This week in maths we have started a new topic of measurement. We began by looking at how we can use a ruler to measure accurately in centimetres and millimetres. Later in the week we learnt how to convert between metres and centimetres, and then centimetres and millimetres.
In Science this week we have started to think about our diets and which groups the food we eat fits into, this is part of our topic, Animals, Including Humans. Next week we will begin to think more about the nutrition that we get from food and the effect that it has on our bodies.
In our Health and Fitness PE lesson this week we focused on raising our heart rates in some fast paced games and fitness activities!

This week’s spellings have been set on Spelling Shed; we will have a short test next Tuesday.

This week the children have worked really hard. In maths we have been putting our skills from the whole year into practice, as well as working on counting in fractions. Next week we will be doing some measuring.
In English we have done some reading comprehension and written our non-chronological reports about lions, with some amazing facts included. Next week we will be learning a rainforest based story to retell in our own words.
In PE we have done some ball skills and learning to skip in different ways in between rain showers.

Thank you to all the parents who have already attended parent meetings, we have sent home a parent questionnaire with your child today which we should be grateful if you would complete and return. We look forward to meeting with those parents we haven't yet seen next week.

Have a lovely weekend.
