Well done to everyone for coming back so positively after half term. This week in maths we have been getting to grip with fractions and in English we have been visiting the rainforest again to get us in the spirit of our new text The Great Chocoplot. In science we were investigating how water evaporates and in music we have been finishing our Ancient Egyptians song with Mrs Mills. There were some great circuits taking place in school today for Fitness Friday. We hope you all have a good weekend and we will see you next week for the final week of home learning. We are looking forward to welcoming you back into school. The weekly overview for next week is attached. Parent meetings are taking place on Wednesday and Thursday, please book in if you haven't already. ![]()

Into another half term we go.... This half term we will be studying the Rainforest and this will continue into Summer 1. The children will be finding out about Rainforest animals and people who live in the Rainforest. Please see the topic web attached for ideas to complete at home for the first two weeks. In Maths this week, we will continue to study shapes, in particular 3d shapes. We will be counting edges and vertices, making sure that we understand what an edge and what a vertice is. We will be describing 3d shapes and identifying them based on their properties. In English we will begin to look at Rainforest poems and start to explore these poems and their features. We will explore different word types and start to build these up ready to create list poems in a few weeks. Please see the weekly overview for further information for this week. ![]()

Mrs B This week in maths we've been working on area and everyone seems to have really got to grips with it!
We continue to be amazed by your poetry and we loved seeing some of the Blackout poem creations you came up with! We'll be moving onto something new after half term. Thank you for sending in your wonderful Topic work - we have loved seeing what an amazingly creative class you are! Final thank you to all of you for your continued hard work, motivation and enthusiasm for learning, and to your parents for all their support too. We hope you all have a lovely half term break and get chance to rest and relax. It is the final week of this half term and what a busy half term it has been for us all. Everybody (children, parents and teachers) have worked so hard to make sure we are learning and making progress. We are so impressed with the work that has been produced and how engaged you have all been. This week in English we will continue to look at letters, paying particular attention to informal letters and their features. We will also be doing some Guided Reading and will be learning about using the past and present tense. In Maths we will be sorting shapes and focussing on symmetry and the patterns that can be made. We hope you all have a lovely week and look forward to seeing you in your video sessions! Mrs James and Mrs Lappin ![]()
Well done to everyone for another week of home learning. Our focus this week has been on Mental Health and we are really grateful to you all for sharing your experiences and creations. Our mental health is important at all times so you might wish to continue to explore some of the activities and remember that talking about how you are feeling can be really help. Do get in touch if there is anything we can help you with. Mrs Gold and I continue to be astounded by your writing for our poetry work. This week we've explored poetic devices, whether poetry has to rhyme, limericks and clerihews and using poetry to express our feelings and using our experiences to write poetry. In maths we have finished our unit on multiplication and division and next week we'll be moving on to area. We have loved seeing all your topic work starting to arrive, if you haven't already, please try to hand in your work before next Friday. We hope you all have a good weekend. Our overview for next week is below. ![]()
