Foundation Stage update

Hi everyone,
WOW I don’t know about you but I was SO impressed with our Foundation stage performance of ‘Wriggly Nativity.’ The children have been practicing for a while and it was great to see them finally perform it for you all. After a slight technical mishap the children did brilliantly and I was very proud of them all.
Our PSHE this week saw us focus on what we think makes a good friend before making paper chains with a partner showing great team work. The children enjoyed this so much that they decided to join them all together to make a massive friendship chain as a class which was lovely to see.
Our RE this week focused on the importance of the Nativity and the children retold the story as part of a group and they also did some interesting work thinking about who was the most important person present at the birth of Jesus which created some great debate.
During phonics this week we have been recapping the sounds we previously learned and have practiced writing these sounds in simple words.
Finally 3 things to ask your child this week:-
  • Can they tell you something that they think makes a good friend?
  • Can they name any people present at the birth of Jesus?
  • Do they know any words starting with ‘o’?
As always come and see me if you have any questions,
Many thanks,
Kayleigh Ballard.
