We love forest school! At Appleton Primary we believe that forest school is a vital part of our curriculum, and every child in the school accesses forest school at some point during the year.
We are very lucky to have two amazing forest school leaders, supported by a number of enthusiastic parents and carers. As well as using our dedicated forest school area on the school grounds, we also go into “Bluebell Woods” to use an area there.
The children love forest school and learn a great deal about themselves during the sessions. It is truly child-led learning, supported by trained forest school staff but not led by them. The children enjoy the freedom to choose their own level of challenge, to push themselves mentally and physically, and to learn new knowledge and skills.
We will periodically update this page with photos and news about our forest school activities, so that you can see how forest school is a wonderful part of our broad and balanced curriculum.
