In our science lesson this week we started our topic about materials. The children told me what they already knew (and were really rather knowledgeable already!) and so we then worked on increasing our vocabulary about materials. We learned what words like “absorbent” and “transparent” mean, as well as working out what “material” itself means. Well done to Luke for giving me a really lovely definition! As part of the lesson, we used our new increased vocabulary to hunt for objects around the room made of certain materials or with certain properties.
