Year 2 have really enjoyed delving into the wonderful The Fox and the Star this half term. We have explored the text in a variety of ways: using booktalk; responding through art, music and dance; gathering vocabulary about feelings; sorting vocabulary by intensity; experiencing being in the woods; making inferences about Fox’s character through role on the wall; and finally, with some amazing writing. I have chosen to showcase some of this writing in a display. There are some of their brilliant odes to Star, and also their big pieces of writing in role, when Fox is feeling upset in his den. The writing in role really uses lots of those feeling words.
I have been absolutely thrilled with how hard all of the children have worked on their writing this half term, and I’m looking forward to more of the same after Christmas!
