School closed- Monday 11th December 2017

Dear parents and carers,

We have decided that in order to ensure the safety of our children and staff, we will not be opening the school tomorrow (Monday 11th December). That does unfortunately mean that years 1 and 2 will not be performing their “Christmas with the Aliens” show either in the afternoon or evening. We appreciate that this can be disruptive for you, but we must make sure that our school site is safe and that staff can make it to school safely too.

So, we hope that you enjoy your snow day! Here are Mrs B’s top 10 activities for you and the children to enjoy:

  1. Build a snowman (either a big one, or lots of little ones!) in the shape of your favourite character (see BB8 snowman below)
  2. Have a snowball fight
  3. Make salt dough Christmas ornaments (here is a recipe)
  4. Bake something delicious for a snack (try these kid friendly recipes from the BBC)
  5. Write and draw a comic about Snowpocalypse 2017
  6. Practise singing some festive songs on a ukulele
  7. Discuss your favourite Christmas songs, and rank your top 10
  8. Make your own playdough or slime
  9. Watch the Muppet Christmas Carol (the BEST Christmas film ever, I’d argue)
  10. Make and indoor den with blankets

We will obviously endeavour to open the school as soon as it is safe to do so. Will will update you about when the school will be open as soon as we can.

Best wishes,

Mrs Barker
