Jack and the Beanstalk afternoon for Foundation Stage and KS1

On Friday afternoon we had a very exciting afternoon! To prepare for our trip to the theatre next week to see Jack and the Beanstalk, we had an afternoon of exploring this story through art, drama and outdoor play. First, we all squeezed into Foundation Stage so that Mrs Barker could all tell us the story of how Jack ended up with some magic beans, and what happened when he climbed the beanstalk. After that, each class had the opportunity to explore the story through drama with Mrs Smith, attempt to bargain with the giant for Jack’s return at Forest School with Miss Williams, and also hone their fine motor skills in some art with Mrs Barker. It was a really enjoyable afternoon for all involved, and it has made us even more excited for the pantomime next week!

Here are some of the photographs of our bean-inspired art activity.
